Armida Publications is a multiple award winning independent publisher based in Nicosia, Cyprus, and was founded in 1997.
The company is a founding member of the Association of Cyprus Book Publishers (member of IPA and FEP) a member of the Independent Publishers Guild (UK) and a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association (USA).
We pride ourselves on our commitment to our books and authors and with a thriving frontlist, and new ventures including strategic alliances with industry leaders ArtFX, AMP FilmWorks, Intelion Partners and CyWebSites (Nicosia, Cyprus), AIORA Press (Athens, Greece), Atalanta Entertainment (Toronto, Canada) and Vilain Innovations Literary Agency (Holland), the company continues to go from strength to strength. In addition, the distribution agreements we have with industry leaders Ingram and Gardners allows global availability for all our English titles.
Armida publishes books in English and Greek, most of which are written by Cypriots or English speaking authors who are related to Cypriot culture. Armida’s title list includes fictional works, such as novels, short stories, anthologies, poetry and theater. Furthermore, photography volumes, essays, historical accounts and cookbooks contribute to a wide selection of non-fictional texts. The selection of books published by Armida is also enhanced by e-books, which you can access through the company’s homepage. In collaboration with the Cyprus PEN Centre, Armida publishes ‘In Focus’, a quarterly magazine on literature, culture and the arts in Cyprus.
Haris Ioannides: the person who does everything else and Freud's designated driver... Specialty; opening letters with letter opener (a true master of a dying art) For private lessons, please use the 'contact us' form.
Miriam Pirolo: designated editor extraordinaire...! authors beware : ) Suffering from an acute case of split nationality disorder, we constantly wish she brings her German side to the office.
Ine De Baerdemaeker: our resident Belgian. Don't ask, we don't know. She showed up one day and we couldn't get rid of her. She aspires to making one cup of coffee without spilling it all over the kitchen counter. We shall assist her in her dreams because us southern Europeans, contrary to popular Belgian belief, are good folk...
Katerina Kaisi: the brains of the whole operation (not spending too much time with us.... go figure : )) ps... as the big giant head of this operation, she has chosen to stay off the grid. The links are duds.
Doros Antoniadis: the Greek connection....
Freud: we dare you to name one publisher who shouldn't consult with a jung-again Freud!
Giorgos Danos: the person with all the answers to all the questions... (its a shame he never speaks!)
Marios Piperides: nobody knows what he does! we just like him because he's tall enough to change the light bulbs without using a ladder... (if you want a light bulb changed, please email us)
Yiannos Ashiotis: he just wandered in and we kept him...
- For those of you who don't know, my dear friend Freud passed away on August 3rd 2011, after 15 great years of friendship. He is sorely missed.
